A thermal transfer printing receiver sheet for use in association with a compatible donor sheet. The receiver sheet has a dye-receptive receiving layer and an opaque biaxially oriented supporting polyester substrate containing: i) small voids, formed around inorganic filler particles, having a mean void size in the range from 0.3 to 3.5 µm, and ii) large voids, formed around organic filler particles, having a mean void size in the range from 5 to 21 µm and less than 15 % by number of the voids have a void size greater than 27 µm.

Feuille réceptrice d'impression par transfert thermique à utiliser en association avec une feuille donneuse compatible. Ladite feuille comporte une couche réceptrice réceptive aux colorants et un substrat de support en polyester opaque à orientation biaxiale contenant (I) de petits espaces vides formés autour de particules de charges inorganiques et ayant une taille moyenne de l'ordre de 0,3 à 3,5 µm et (ii) de grands espaces vides formés autour de particules de charge organiques et ayant une taille moyenne de l'ordre de 5 à 21 µm, moins de 15 % en nombre desdits espaces vides ayant une taille supérieure à 27 µm.
