ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Recognizing that recycling efforts on the part of the general public are discouraged by the sheer bulk and physical volume of items of "solid waste" the inventors of this process and apparatus have devised these procedures and this mechanism to provide the means to simply reduce the physical effort, the storage volume as well as the bulky transportation required to reroute "solid waste" items into remanufacturing avenues rather than into landfills. The process is designed to accommodate solid wastes derived from all food product packaging including but not limited to plastic. glass, tin and aluminum, paper etc. and also provides for newspaper and other paper products. The process and apparatus identify the item, route it through the volume reducing and dehydrating procedures required, sort and store the resulting particles in organized manner and forward them to locations where they are returned to useful functions.
