A methacrylic resin composition having excellent transparency, appearance, weatherability, gloss, impact resistance and processability, which comprises a methacrylic resin and a graft copolymer having a multilayer structure prepared by polymerizing a monomer component comprising an alkyl methacrylate such as methyl methacrylate as a main component in the presence of a chain transfer agent to form an innermost layer of a crosslinked methacrylic polymer, polymerizing a monomer component comprising an alkyl acrylate such as butyl acrylate as a main component in the presence of the innermost layer polymer to form an intermediate layer and subsequently polymerizing a monomer component comprising an alkyl methacrylate such as methyl methacrylate as a main component to form an outermost layer on the intermediate layer.
L'invention se rapporte à une composition de résine méthacrylique comportant un copolymère greffé multicouche que l'on obtient en polymérisant des monomères constitués principalement d'un méthacrylate d'alkyle tel que du méthacrylate de méthyle en présence d'un agent de transfert de chaîne de manière à former une couche interne constituée d'un polymère méthacrylique réticulé, puis en polymérisant au moins un monomère constitué principalement d'un acrylate d'alkyle tel qu'un acrylate de butyle en présence du polymère de couche interne de manière à former une couche intermédiaire, et enfin en polymérisant au moins un monomère constitué principalement d'un méthacrylate d'alkyle tel qu'un méthacrylate de méthyle de manière à former une couche externe au-dessus de la couche intermédiaire. Ladite composition de résine contient également une résine méthacrylique. Cette composition possède des caractéristiques excellentes de transparence, d'aspect, de résistance aux intempéries, de brillance, de résistance aux chocs et d'aptitude au traitement.
