Description

A reversing gearbox is provided for use with an auger having a housing, a flight mounted for rotation with the housing and a motor for driving rotation of the flight. The gearbox includes a drive shaft coupled to the motor and a driven shaft coupled to the flight of the auger. The drive shaft is mounted at right angles to the driven shaft and includes a drive gear mounted on an end thereof adjacent to the driven shaft. A pair of confronting driven gears are mounted on the driven shaft for longitudinal sliding movement thereon. The driven gears are arranged to engage opposite sides of the drive gear during respective forward and rearward rotation of the flight. An actuator is provided for controlling a longitudinal positioning of the driven gears relative the drive gear for selecting forward or rearward rotation of the flight as desired.
