ABSTRACT A centralizer rotatable on the shanks of rods of a sucker rod string used to operate a well pump. The centralizer includes a tubular body positionable rotatably about a mount between spaced facing annular shoulders of the mount. The body has opposite end shoulders engageable with the annular shoulders to limit longitudinal movement of the centalizer on the mount. The tubular body can be of a resilient substance and have a central bore and longitudinal slit extending the full length of the body. The body can have at least one longitudinal radially outer portion of reduced radial thickness spaced from the slit for permitting portions of the body extending in opposite directions from the slit to be flexed resiliently outward at the reduced thckness to permit positioning of the body about a rod mount.
