ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Two rotary snubbers are shown, one having two movable vanes which force oil through two sets of successively closed openings in a stationary ring to achieve the snubbing force, and another version having one stationary vane and movable ring with the snubbing force nevertheless achieved in both directions with the two sets of openings defined in the ring.
