Abstract of the Disclosure There are described salts of N5,N10-methylene- 5,6,7,8-tetrahydrofolic acid of the formulae Ia and Ib Image Ia Ib in the form of the (6RS)-diastereoisomers mixture or in the form of the single (6R) or (6S) diastereoisomers. The substituents are defined in claim 1. There are also described three processes for the preparation of these salts. The mentioned salts of the formulae Ia and Ib may be used for the preparation of a medicament for the synergistic excertion of influence of a cancer controlling compound and/or for the reduction of the toxicity of a cancer controlling compound and/or for the protection of human and/or animal cells.
