There is described a bioresorbable sealant or coating for a prosthetic graft. The novel sealant described is based upon dextran, preferably obtained by microbial fermentation, cross-linked through reaction with formaldehyde and urea. The breakdown products of the sealant or coating are all of low molecular weight and may be easily processed by the body. A method of producing the novel sealant or coating is also described.

L'invention concerne une matériau d'échantéité ou de revêtement biorésorbable destiné à une greffe prosthétique. Ce nouveau matériau d'étanchéité est réalisé à base de dextrane, obtenu de préférence par fermentation microbienne et croisé par réaction avec des formaldéhydes et de l'urée. Les produits de dégradation du matériau d'échantéité ou de revêtement présentent tous une masse moléculaire faible, et peuvent être aisément traités par l'organisme. L'invention concerne également un procédé de fabrication dudit nouveau matériau d'échantéité ou de revêtement.
