The invention relates to a security element (12) with machine-readable coding, the information content of which cannot be captured with the naked eye and without aids, wherein the coding has coarse coding (22) with little information content for capture with a low-resolution sensor and fine coding (24) which is arranged inside the coarse coding (22) and has a greater information content for capture with a high-resolution sensor of the same type.
