The present invention includes a self-healing and corrosion resistant capacitor electrode structure. This new self-healing, corrosion resistant electrode structure is compatible with many different types of dielectrics composed of at least one polymer that may be in combination with ceramic particles, metal particles, electrically conductive polymers or other high K polymers. The electrode structure in combination with a dielectric layer forms a capacitor. The present invention includes dielectric structures that are compatible with automated, high-speed fabrication procedures. The present invention is most applicable to ultra high energy density capacitors designed specifically for storing electrical energy.
