A drive system (10) has a control section (51), an adjustable frequency drive unit (45) coupled to the control section (51), and first and second drive motors (MH and MB or MT). The drive system (10) is used with a material handling machine such as a light-duty crane (11) on which any two of the hoist, bridge and trolley motors (MH, MB, MT) are not used simultaneously. The drive unit (45) is a scalar or flux vector (feedback-type) inverter and is the sole drive unit providing electrical power to the drive motors (MH, MB, MT). Preferred control is by a pendant station (39) or radio transmitter control unit (41a). Powering one motor "locks out" operation of the other motor or other two motors.
L'invention est un système d'entraînement (10) comportant une section de commande (51), une unité d'entraînement à fréquence ajustable (45) couplée à cette section de commande (51), et un premier et un second moteur d'entraînement (MH et MB ou MT).
