A b s t r a c t A shelf assembly for storing articles comprises gable portions with shelves situated therebetween. Each gable portion is made of a pipe provided with locking holes and is shaped as an inverted U with webs. The gable portions are interconnected by means of two diagonally rigid spacers provided with easily releasable coupling members and situat- ed in such a manner that the shelves are always easily ac- cessible. Regarding the assemble in the longitudinal direc- tion, the shelves project to both sides of the leg of each gable portion. Each shelf is secured in an easily detachable manner in the locking holes of the leg by means of brackets which are easily mountable on or demountable from the leg and the shelf. The brackets comprise fastening means for fastening the shelves in a plane between 0 and 30° relative to horizontal plane. This shelf assembly is extremely simple and permits a very easy mounting and demounting thereof and furthermore each shelf is movable, possibly angularly, with- out requiring demounting of greater parts of the assembly.
