A method of routing a message from a source node to a destination node in an adhoc wireless network comprising a plurality of nodes, comprising the steps of; transmitting a first message from the source node to the destination node, receiving said first message at said destination node, transmitting a second message from said destination node in response to the first message and, wherein at least one of said first message and said second message is sent between the source and destination nodes via a plurality of paths comprising at least one intermediate node,selecting a path for communication between the source node and the destination node using an indication of the time taken for at least one of said second and first messages to propagate between each node on each path.
L'invention concerne un procédé destiné à acheminer un message depuis un noeud source jusqu'à un réseau sans fil ad hoc comprenant une pluralité de noeuds. Ce procédé consiste à transmettre un premier message depuis le noeud source jusqu'à un noeud destinataire, à recevoir ce premier message au niveau du noeud destinataire, à transmettre un second message à partir de ce noeud destinataire en réponse au premier message, l'un au moins desdits premier et second messages étant envoyé entre les noeuds source et destinataire par l'intermédiaire d'une pluralité de chemins comprenant au moins un noeud intermédiaire, et à sélectionner un chemin en vue d'une communication entre le noeud source et le noeud destinataire en utilisant une indication du temps requis pour que l'un au moins desdits premier et second messages se propage entre chaque noeud sur chaque chemin.
