Known water or wastewater treatment methods, wherein a layer of fluid sludge is formed during operation of the method in a first chamber beneath a body of liquid partially filling the first chamber to an upper liquid level, fluid sludge from the first chamber is processed in a second chamber and a stream of fluid sludge is conveyed by a conduit from the first chamber as influent to the second chamber, are improved by creating upward flow of fluid sludge through a vertical stackpipe by introducing large bubbles within the stackpipe with its inlet end immersed in the layer of fluid sludge, discharging fluid sludge through an elongated, longitudinal side opening in the top portion of the stackpipe into a collector zone at least a portion of which is at a vertical height above the upper liquid level, controlling the rate of the discharge of fluid sludge by vertical adjustment of the position of the side opening relativeto the upper liquid level in the first chamber and flowing fluid sludge from thecollector zone into the conduit for conveyance as the influent to the second chamber. Apparatus to accomplish the new methods is disclosed.
Selon les méthodes connus de traitement des eaux ou des eaux usées, une couche de boue liquide est formée durant la mise en oeuvre de la méthode dans une première chambre en dessous d'un corps de liquide remplissant partiellement la première chambre à un niveau supérieur de liquide, la boue de la première chambre est traitée dans une deuxième chambre et le flux de boue liquide est transporté par un conduit depuis la première chambre, comme influent, vers la deuxième chambre. Ces méthodes sont améliorées par la création d'un flux vers le haut de boue liquide à travers un tuyau vertical en introduisant de grosses bulles dans le tuyau lorsque son extrémité d'entrée est immergée dans la couche de boue liquide, évacuant la boue liquide à travers une ouverture latérale allongée dans la partie supérieure du tuyau vertical vers une zone de collecte dont au moins une partie est à une hauteur verticale au-dessus du niveau supérieur de liquide, contrôlant le débit d'évacuation de boue liquide par un réglage vertical de la position de l'ouverture latérale par rapport au niveau supérieur de liquide dans la première chambre et l'écoulement de la boue liquide de la zone de collecteur vers le conduit, pour le transport, comme influent de la deuxième chambre. L'objet de l'invention est l'appareil permettant de mettre en application les nouvelle méthodes.
