The spool assembly for storing and handling a wire or cable, especially a pintle (3), has a spool (11) that is annular in shape and devised to define a radially outwardly opened rim of U-shaped cross-section in which the wire can be wound. At least one of the side walls of this rim has an outer edge with teeth formed in it. The spool (11) is freely mounted and retained in a spool-receiving member (31) having a surrounding wall with an outlet (63) through which the wire may exit. A brake (37) is provided to prevent the spool from rotating when such is not required. The brake comprises a tiltable arm extending tangentially close to the spool. One or more teeth project from the arm towards the periphery of the spool so as to engage the teeth of the spool and thus prevent the spool from being rotated unless the arm is lifted up. One or more stoppers (69, 71, 73) may also be provided to lock the wire. The assembly is preferably made of plastic material. It is very simple in structure and very handy to use.
L'invention concerne un système d'enrouleur permettant de stocker ou de manipuler un fil ou un câble, en particulier un fil charnière. Ce système se compose d'une bobine (11) de forme annulaire construite de manière à former un bord ouvert radialement du côté externe, à section en U, sur lequel le câble peut être enroulé. Au moins une des parois latérales de ce bord comprend un rebord sur lequel sont formées des dents. La bobine (11) est montée librement et retenue dans un élément (31) support de bobine présentant une paroi périphérique avec une sortie (63) à travers laquelle le câble peut passer. Un frein (37) empêche la bobine de tourner inutilement. Ce frein comprend un bras inclinable qui s'étend de manière tangentielle à proximité de la bobine. Ce bras comporte une ou plusieurs dents proéminentes dirigées vers le pourtour de la bobine de manière à venir se mettre en prise avec les dents de la bobine et d'empêcher la rotation de la bobine jusqu'à ce que le bras soit levé. Ce système peut en outre comporter une ou plusieurs butées (69, 71, 73) permettant de bloquer le câble. Le système d'enrouleur est produit de préférence en matériau plastique. Sa structure est très simple et il est pratique à utiliser.
