A process for passivating contaminating metal on a hydrocarbon cracking catalyst is provided. The catalyst is contacted within a hydrocarbon catalytic cracking unit with a stabilized dispersion. The dispersion comprises a fluid vehicle, a dispersion agent, and finely milled particles of one or more metals or metal compounds for passivation of metal-contaminated cracking catalysts. The dispersion is preferably produced by a process wherein an agitated media mill is loaded with comminuting media, fluid vehicle, dispersion agent and particles of a metal or metal compound for passivation of metal-contaminated cracking catalysts. The comminuting media, fluid vehicle, and particles are then agitated until the particles are reduced in size by at least 10 % and have a volumetric average particle size of less than 0.5 microns.
Procédé de passivation de métal contaminant sur un catalyseur de craquage d'hydrocarbures. Ledit catalyseur est mis en contact, dans une unité de craquage catalytique d'hydrocarbures, avec une dispersion stabilisée. La dispersion contient un véhicule fluide, un agent de dispersion, et des particules finement broyées d'un ou plusieurs métaux ou composés métalliques pour la passivation de catalyseurs de craquage contaminés par un métal. La dispersion est de préférence produite par un procédé dans lequel une unité de broyage dans laquelle la matière est agitée est chargée de matière de broyage fin, de véhicule fluide, d'agent de dispersion et de particules de métal ou de composé métallique pour la passivation de catalyseurs de craquage contaminés par un métal. La matière de broyage fin, le véhicule fluide et les particules sont ensuite agitées jusqu'à ce que les particules aient une taille réduite d'au moins 10 % et présente une taille moyenne en volume de moins de 0,5 micron.
