ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE STORAGE TANK WITH SECONDARY CONTAINMENT A storage tank for fuels and other liquids comprises an inner tank which is a flat base and a cylindrical side wall which is contained within a secondary outer containment tank which is similarly formed with a flat base and a cylindrical outer wall spaced outwardly from the side wall of the inner tank. A single cover sheet extends over both the inner and outer tanks and is welded to the inner tank to close the hollow interior thereof with a flange portion thereof projecting outwardly beyond the inner tank to engage over the top edge of the outer tank in a rain shedding arrangement. The inner tank includes spacer plates to project radially outwardly to locate the inner tank within the outer tank. The inner tank and the cover sheet are separate from the outer tank so they can be manufactured separately and assembled together and can be removed for inspection. The outer tank includes lift lugs. Explosion gases are vented from the volume between the inner and outer tank by vent ducts mounted on the cover sheet and including flap closure members for closing off the return of oxygen after the gases have escaped.
