A process for the production of a substrate having antimicrobial properties is described. It comprises a step consisting of the déposition of a métal non- gelling layer comprising an inorganic antimicrobial agent, starting from a precursor, in métal, colloid, chelate or ion form on at least one of the surfaces of the glass substrate; and a step consisting of the diffusion of the agent into said at least one surface of the substrate by thermal treatment. Alternatively, the substrate may be coated with an underlayer or a topcoat and the diffusion occurs either in the underlayer or in the topcoat. Glass and metallic substrates having antimicrobial properties are also described. In particular, a substrate exhibiting a bactericidal activity measured in accordance with standard JIS Z 2801 of higher than log 2.
La présente invention concerne un procédé pour produire un substrat présentant des propriétés antimicrobiennes. Ce procédé consiste à déposer une couche non gélifiante métallique comprenant un agent antimicrobien inorganique, obtenu à partir d'un précurseur, sous forme métallique, colloïde, chélatée ou ionique, sur au moins une des surfaces du substrat de verre, puis à diffuser l'agent dans ladite surface du substrat au moyen d'un traitement thermique. En variante, le substrat peut être revêtu avec une sous-couche ou une couche de finition et la diffusion a lieu soit dans la sous-couche, soit dans la couche de finition. Cette invention concerne également des substrats en verre et en métal qui présentent des propriétés antimicrobiennes, en particulier un substrat présentant une activité bactéricide mesurée selon la norme JIS Z 2801 qui est supérieure à log 2.
