ABSTRACT The invention relates to a sulphonylisothioureido- triazine derivative of the general formula (VIIA) Image (VIIA) in which R1A represents a substituted phenyl radical Image wherein R6A represents C1-C4-fluoroalkoxy, C1-C4-alkylthio, C1-C4- alkylsulphinyl or C1-C4-alkylsulphonyl R4 represents fluorine, chlorine, bromine, cyclopropyl or C1-C4-alkyl (which is optionally substituted by fluorine or chlorine), or represents C1-C4-alkoxy (which is optionally substituted by fluorine or chlorine), or represents C1-C4-alkylthio (which is optionally substituted by fluorine or chlorine), or represents C1-C4-alkyl- or di-(C1-C4-alkyl)-amino (which are optionally substituted by fluorine), R5 represents fluorine, chlorine, bromine, cyclopropyl, C1-C4-alkyl (which is optionally substituted by fluorine or chlorine), or represents C1-C4 alkoxy (which is optionally substi- tuted by fluorine or chlorine), or represents C1-C4-alkylthio (which is optionally substituted by fluorine or chlorine), or re- presents C1-C4-alkyl- or di-(C1-C4-alkyl)-amino (which are option- ally substituted by fluorine), and R16 represents C1-C4-alkyl or benzyl and the preparation thereof. The compounds of formula VIIA are useful intermediates in the preparation of herbicidally active compounds.
