A process for the selective hydrogenation of aliphatic or aromatic substrates under supercritical or near critical conditions. Hydrogenation is effected using a heterogeneous catalyst in a continuous flow reactor containing a supercritical or near critical reaction medium and selectively product formation is achieved by varying one or more of the temperature, pressure, catalyst and flow rate.

L'invention concerne un procédé d'hydrogénation sélective de substrats aliphatiques ou aromatiques dans des conditions supercritiques ou quasi critiques. Une hydrogénation est effectuée au moyen d'un catalyseur hétérogène dans un réacteur à courant continu contenant un milieu de réaction supercritique ou quasi critique, le produit formé pouvant être choisi si l'un des facteurs suivants ou plusieurs d'entre eux est modifié, à savoir la température, la pression, le catalyseur et le débit.
