ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE A process for treating a glass container which has been subjected to a hot and metal oxide treatment which comprises applying to the glass surface a coating of a fatty acid, whilst the glass is at a temperature within the range from 90°C to 130°C, and then applying an insoluble organic coating whilst the glass is at a temperature within the range from 90°C to 150°C.
