A surgical fastening device (100) for pinning a surgical filament to a body tissue. The device includes a grasping handle (107) and a slender shaft (102) extending from the grasping handle. A compartment (63) contains one or more surgical fasteners. An ejecting mechanism is used to eject a surgical fastener from a compartment containing one or more surgical fasteners. The device also includes a filament dispensing system (108) that dispenses surgical filament (109) along the shaft so that a fastener grasps the filament when being ejected from the shaft. The invention also provides surgical fasteners and surgical filaments for use in the device.
L'invention concerne un dispositif de fixation chirurgical (100) destiné à l'attachement d'un filament chirurgical à un tissu du corps. Le dispositif comprend une poignée de préhension (107) et une tige mince (102) s'étendant à partir de cette poignée. Un compartiment (63) renferme un ou plusieurs éléments de fixation chirurgicaux. Un mécanisme d'éjection est utilisé pour éjecter un élément de fixation dudit compartiment. Le dispositif comprend également un système de distribution de filament (108) distribuant le filament (109) le long de la tige, de telle façon qu'un élément de fixation saisisse le filament lorsqu'il est éjecté de la tige. L'invention concerne également des éléments de fixation chirurgicaux et des filaments chirurgicaux destinés à être utilisés dans le dispositif précité.
