Abstract Novel sydnonimine N-acyl derivatives of the formula (I): Image (I) wherein R is selected from the group consisting of phenyl, .beta.-phenylethyl, d,1-.alpha.-methyl-.beta.-phenylethyl and 1-.alpha.-methyl-.beta.- phenylethyl: R' is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and phenyl; X is selected from the group consisting of a lower alkyl, phenyl and a group of formula Image wherein R" is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, halogen and lower fluorinated alkyl; R"' is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, halogen and lower alkyl; with the proviso that when X is said group of formula Image and R', R" and R"' are hydrogen, R is 1-.alpha.-methyl-.beta.-phenylethyl; the compounds possess a psychostimulant activity at a low toxicity and can be used as the active ingredient of medicine.
