A network communications device including an input/output (I/O) unit configured to communicate (303) data packets to and from a communications network (300) and at least one module. The module(s) may be configured to count total data packets being communicated via the I/O unit during a time period, count data packets including real-time content being communicated via the I/O unit during the time period, determine bandwidth of total data packets being communicated via the I/O unit, determine bandwidth of data packets including real-time content being communicated via the I/O unit, and communicate indicia representative of the bandwidth of data packets including real-time content and total data packets (302) via said I/O unit to another network communications device (304). The module(s) may be software, hardware, or a combination thereof.
L'invention concerne un dispositif de communication de réseau comprenant une unité entrée/sortie (E/S) configurée pour communiquer (303) des paquets de données à un réseau de communication (300) ou pour recevoir des paquets de données dudit réseau, et au moins un module. Le(s) module(s) peut/peuvent être configuré(s) pour : compter les paquets de données totaux communiqués par l'intermédiaire de l'unité E/S pendant une période de temps ; compter les paquets de données contenant un contenu en temps réel communiqué par l'intermédiaire de l'unité E/S pendant cette période ; déterminer la largeur de bande des paquets de données totaux communiqués par l'intermédiaire de l'unité E/S ; déterminer la largeur de bande des paquets de données contenant un contenu en temps réel communiqué par l'intermédiaire de l'unité E/S ; et communiquer des marques représentatives de la largeur de bande des paquets de données contenant un contenu en temps réel et des paquets de données totaux (302) par l'intermédiaire de l'unité E/S à un autre dispositif de communication de réseau (304). Le(s) module(s) peuvent être logiciels, matériels ou une combinaison des deux.
