A method of conveying an e-mail message including an address field in which an account name portion of the address is a descriptor of the intended recipient of the message and which may be different from the account name of the intended recipient, including the steps of locating in a database of descriptors and e-mail addresses the e-mail address associated with said descriptor, and transmitting the message to the e-mail address yielded by the database.

L'invention concerne un procédé d'acheminement d'un message électronique comprenant un champ d'adresse dans lequel une partie intitulé de compte de l'adresse est le descripteur du destinataire du message et qui peut être différent du nom de compte du destinataire. Ledit procédé consiste à localiser dans une base de données de descripteurs et d'adresses électroniques, l'adresse électronique associée audit descripteur, et à transmettre le message à l'adresse électronique produite par la base de données.
