System for layering content for scheduled delivery in a data network. A method is provided for transmitting content to one or more receiving terminals from a distribution server in a data network. The method includes encoding the content into a base layer and one or more enhancement layers, and transmitting the base layer to the one or more receiving terminals. The method also includes receiving a request from at least one receiving terminal to receive one or more enhancement layers, and transmitting the one or more enhancement layer to the at least one receiving terminals.

Système de structuration d'un contenu en couches pour livraison programmée dans un réseau de données. Le procédé décrit permet de transmettre un contenu à un ou à plusieurs terminaux à partir d'un serveur de distribution dans un réseau de données. Ce procédé consiste à coder le contenu dans une couche de base et dans une ou plusieurs couches d'enrichissement, et à transmettre la couche de base à un ou à plusieurs terminaux récepteurs. Le procédé consiste également à recevoir d'au moins un terminal récepteur une demande de réception d'une ou de plusieurs couches d'enrichissement et à lui transmettre cette ou ces couches en conséquence.
