A computer assisted method for tracking and correlating of breeding, veterinary care, and phenotypic data generated by SNP-based genotypesand performance data relating to livestock animals (105, 107, 108). The methods incorporate the generation of genotypic profiles by using panels of SNPs that define phenotypic traits. The method can allow the operator to be alerted by deviation of the actual performance parameters from desired performances so that feed, medications, vaccinations, husbandry conditions, food safety etc. of the animals may be adjusted or corrected accordingly. Such method include obtaining and maintaining the data obtained from each animal, and optionally other data relating to the animal's health (110), condition or parentage, or to its herd, and providing this data to others through web-based systems (112), contained in a database, or attached to the animal itself such as by an implanted microchip.

L'invention concerne un procédé informatisé de suivi et de corrélation de données d'élevage, vétérinaires et phénotypiques produites par des génotypes SNP, et de données de performances associées à des animaux (105, 107, 108). Le procédé selon l'invention consiste à produire des profils génotypiques au moyen de tableaux de SNP définissant des caractéristiques phénotypiques. Selon ledit procédé, l'utilisateur peut être alerté lors de la déviation des paramètres de performance réels par rapport aux performances visées de manière à ajuster ou corriger en conséquence l'alimentation, la médication, la vaccination, les conditions d'élevage et le niveau de pureté de la nourriture des animaux. Ledit procédé consiste également à recevoir et à conserver les données obtenues pour chaque animal, et éventuellement d'autres données concernant la santé de l'animal (110), son état, son ascendance et éventuellement son cheptel, et à fournir ces données à d'autres intervenants par l'intermédiaire de systèmes Internet (112), lesdites données étant contenues dans une base de données ou attachées à l'animal lui-même par l'intermédiaire d'une micropuce implantée.
