A telecommunications cable suitable for application in building air plenum chambers includes a core of electrical conductors, each electrical conductor surrounded by a cellular fire retardant material surrounded by an outer layer of low smoke generating material. The entire core is surrounded by a jacket of low smoke generating material. The use of a cellular inner layer results in electrical characteristics including dielectric constant values suitable for high frequency communications applications.
