A telescopic mobile flare stack includes a support and telescopic flare stack sections. The flare stack sections have associated gas conduits positioned in side by side relation, with each of the gas conduits having a primary axis. At least one of the gas conduits has a U-shaped first end which terminates in a male fitting positioned parallel to the primary axis. At least one of the gas conduits has a U-shaped second end which terminates in a female fitting positioned parallel to the primary axis. In the extended position, the second end of the gas conduit of one of the flare stack sections is positioned adjacent to the first end of the gas conduit of an other of the flare stack section. The female fitting of the gas conduit of the one of the flare stack sections matingly engages the male fitting of the gas conduit of the other of the flare stack sections.
