A tetrahydrobenzimidazole derivative represented by formula (I): <see fig. I> wherein Het represents a heterocyclic group which may be substituted with 1 to 3 substituents selected from the group consisting of a lower alkyl group, a lower alkenyl group, a lower alkynyl group, a cycloalkyl-lower alkyl group, an aralkyl group, a lower alkoxy group, a nitro group, a hydroxyl group, a lower alkoxycarbonyl group, and a halogen atom; and X represents a single bond or -NH- which is bonded to the carbon atom or nitrogen atom of the heterocyclic ring, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The compound of formula (I) and a salt thereof exhibits antagonism against 5-HT3 receptor. - 69 -

Un dérivé du tétrahydrobenzimidazole représenté par la formule (I) : <voir fig. I> où Het représente un groupe hétérocyclique qui peut être substitué par 1 à 3 substituants choisis parmi le groupe suivant : alkyle inférieur, alkényle inférieur, alkynyle inférieur, cycloalkyl-alkyle inférieur, aralkyle, alcoxy inférieur, nitro, hydroxyle, alcoxy inférieur-carbonyle et halogène; et X représente une liaison simple ou -NH- qui est lié à l'atome de carbone ou à l'atome d'azote du noyau hétérocyclique, ou un sel pharmaceutiquement acceptable de ce dernier. Le composé de formule (I) et un sel de ce dernier sont des antagonistes du récepteur de la 5-HT3.
