There is disclosed a scarf having an elongated lightweight body of a fleece material of uniform thickness and of a homogeneous constitution and which body has at one end two transverse slits, each slit being equidistant from the end and running from opposite sides toward the center, and a slit parallel to the elongated shape of the scarf at the opposite end. These slits enable the scarf to remain closed and to hold its position around a wearer's neck when the tranverse slits are inserted into the parallel slit.
