This invention relates to infrared dyes and their use in microparticles. Specifically, combinations of at least two dyes that absorb in the infrared region of light are used to provide a broad absorption spectrum. The infrared dye composition is incorporated in or on microparticles. The microparticles may subsequently be used in determining the presence of a ligand of interest or physical property of a sample.
L'invention concerne des colorants infrarouges ainsi que l'utilisation de ceux-ci dans des microparticules. Elle concerne notamment l'utilisation de combinaisons d'au moins deux colorants qui absorbent la lumière dans la région infrarouge de celle-ci, aux fins d'obtention d'un spectre d'absorption large. La composition de colorants infrarouges est incorporée dans de microparticules ou déposée sur celles-ci. Il est possible d'utiliser ensuite ces microparticules pour déterminer la présence d'un ligand recherché ou une propriété physique d'un échantillon.
