The bleaching compositions of discolored teeth comprise titanium dioxide initiating photocatalyst action with light irradiation, chemical compounds generating hydrogen peroxide in an aqueous solution and thickening agents. Further the bleaching methods of discolored teeth comprising applying the bleaching composition onto the surface area of the teeth and then initiating photocatalyst action by irradiating the applied surfaces area with light. Therefore, the present invention shows remarkable bleaching results due to easy application of the compositions onto discolored teeth and keeping the original activity of the photocatalyst without its deterioration.

L'invention concerne des compositions pour le blanchiment des dents, qui contiennent: du dioxyde de titane ayant un effet photocatalytique lorsqu'il est exposé à la lumière; un composé pouvant émettre du peroxyde d'hydrogène dans une solution aqueuse; et un épaississeur. L'invention concerne également une méthode de blanchiment de dents décolorées, qui consiste à: faire adhérer cette composition à la surface des dents décolorées; exposer cette surface à la lumière; et blanchir les dents décolorées grâce à l'effet photocatalytique ainsi obtenu. Ces compositions, qui peuvent être facilement appliquées dans la pratique aux dents décolorées, permettent d'obtenir un effet blanchissant suffisant, sans que l'activité photocatalytique qui lui est inhérente soit réduite.
