A process for treating an animal waste in a waste holding facility to reduce sulfides and enhance efficient degradation of large amounts of organic matter with reduced odor. The process includes a first inoculation with sulfide-utilizing bacteria and a second inoculation with organic digesting bacteria and lytic enzymes. The second organic digesting inoculation is performed at a time when the sulfidecontent of the animal waste in the facility is adequately reduced to support organic digesting bacterial growth and efficient degradation of organic matter.
Divulgation d'un procédé pour traiter les déchets animaux dans un entrepôt de déchets animaux afin de réduire les sulfures et d'améliorer la dégradation efficace de grandes quantités de matière organique tout en atténuant les odeurs. Le procédé consiste en une première inoculation avec des bactéries du soufre et en une seconde inoculation avec des bactéries digérant la matière organique et des enzymes de dégradation. La seconde inoculation pour la digestion de la matière organique est effectuée à un moment où la teneur en sulfures des déchets animaux dans l'installation est suffisamment réduite pour soutenir la prolifération des bactéries et leur dégradation efficace de la matière organique.
