TUBING TO SLEEVE INTERLOCK FOR GAS SERVICE CONNECTOR Abstract of the Disclosure The gas carrying plastic tubing at the meter end of a gas service connector is axially interlocked to its pro- tective metal sleeve by means of an interfitting annular gasket surrounding the tubing in the intervening space between the tubing and sleeve. The gasket is axially sand- wiched in compression between a pair of annular insert rings, the innermost of which is seated against an annular shoulder formed in the internal diameter surface of the sleeve. Securing the outermost ring is the radial flange of a ribbed lock insert positioned in the tubing and termi- nating outward thereof in the radial flange which is staked to the metal sleeve about its periphery. The compressive forces imposed on the gasket causes a radially inward annular bulging of the gasket locally deforming the plastic tubing into a conforming interfit with the ribs and spacings of the insert.
