The invention concerns a sheet metal enamelled on both surfaces, the enamel comprising a vitreous phase wherein is dispersed at least a crystallised mineral compound which, at 300 ·C, has a protonic conductivity higher than 10?-6¿ S.cm?-1¿, and which is dispersed in a proportion sufficient for providing the enamel with impermeability to hydrogen higher than 10?-11¿ g.cm?-2¿.s?-1¿ in the range of temperatures between 300 ·C and the enamel glass transition temperature. The invention also concerns the enamel composition and a method for making said sheet. The invention enables enamelling grades of steel considered to be enamel-resistant.

Tôle d'acier revêtue d'émail sur les deux faces, l'émail comprenant une phase vitreuse dans laquelle est dispersé au moins un composé minéral cristallisé qui présente, à 300~C, une conductivité protonique supérieure à 10-6 S.cm-1, et qui est dispersé dans une proportion suffisante pour conférer à l'émail une perméabilité à l'hydrogène supérieure à 10-11 g.cm-2.s-1 dans la gamme des températures comprises entre 300~C et la température de transition vitreuse de l'émail. Composition d'émaillage et procédé pour fabriquer cette tôle. L'invention permet d'émailler sans risques de coup d'ongle des nuances d'acier pourtant réputées non émaillables.
