ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A filter assembly is conveniently secured to a heating vent whereby the filter assembly provides a simple means for filtering the air exiting the heating vent. The assembly has a housing member releasably engageable with the heating vent in a manner to place a generally open bottom of the housing member over the open top of the air vent. Air exiting the vent passes through the open bottom of the housing through a filter member disposed within the housing and exits the open top of the housing. The filter member is conveniently replaceable within the housing. In this manner, the filter member further filters the air at the point of discharge of the air and removes unwanted dust and other fine particles.
