Vinyl acetate/vinyl alcohol copolymer having an average degree of polymerization between 150 and 1500 containing between 5% and 10% of oligomers with a degree of polymerization between 5 and 30 and having an average length of the blocks of the vinyl alcohol groups between 8 and 12 units. Process for the production of said vinyl acetate/vinyl alcohol copolymer and use thereof in the suspension polymerization of vinyl chloride polymers and copolymers substantially exempt from closed cells.

Copolymère aéctate de vinyle/alcool vynilique montrant un degré moyen de polymérisation entre 150 et 1 500 et renfermant entre 5 % et 10 % d'oligomères montrant un degré de polymérisation entre 5 et 30 et dont la longueur moyenne des blocs des groupes d'alcool vynilique se situe entre 8 et 12 unités. Procédé pour la production du dit copolymère acétate de vinyle/alcool vynilique et son utilisation dans la polymérisation en suspension de polymères et de copolymères de chlorure de vinyle substantiellement exempts d'alvéoles fermés.
