A wastewater treatment system is provided in which water to be treated is moved into a treatment vessel without the pumping action of a pump. Such movement is facilitated by creating and, in some aspects, maintaining a vacuum in the treatment vessel to effect a siphoning action to move water to and through the vessel. In one embodiment the treatment vessel is contained within a wastewater collection container, for example a below-grade concrete pit of an existing wastewater collection system. In another aspect, the system is sealed, so undesirable vapors are not vented to the atmosphere.

La présente invention concerne un système de traitement des eaux usées où l'on fait passer l'eau à traiter dans une cuve de traitement sans avoir à faire usage d'une pompe. On facilite ce transfert de l'eau en créant et en maintenant les conditions de vide dans la cuve de traitement, de sorte que l'eau passe dans la cuve et à travers celle-ci par un effet de siphon.
