The invention relates to a method for preparing a wet strength agent comprising a first step of reacting a nitrogen-containing polymer with a hydrophobic compound to form hydrophobic side-chain substituents on the polymer, a second step of reacting the hydrophobised nitrogen-containing polymer obtained with a crosslinker to form a cationic nitrogen-containing resin, and a third step comprising forming of particles by emulsion polymerisation of one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers in the presence of the wet strength resin formed. The invention further relates to a wet strength agent and resin. It further relates to the use of said agent and resin in cellulosic suspensions, the production of paper, preferably tissue paper, and paper, preferably tissue paper comprising a wet strength resin or agent.
L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation d'un agent de résistance à l'état humide consistant, dans une première étape, à faire réagir un polymère contenant de l'azote avec un composé hydrophobe de manière à former des substituants hydrophobes à chaîne latérale sur ledit polymère, dans une deuxième étape, à faire réagir le polymère rendu hydrophobe et contenant de l'azote ainsi obtenu avec un agent de réticulation de manière à former une résine cationique contenant de l'azote, et dans une troisième étape, à former des particules par la polymérisation en émulsion d'un ou de plusieurs monomères éthyléniquement insaturés en présence de la résine de résistance à l'état humide formée. L'invention concerne également un agent et une résine de résistance à l'état humide, ainsi que l'utilisation dudit agent et de ladite résine dans des suspensions cellulosiques, et dans la production du papier, notamment du papier de soie, et dans le papier, notamment dans le papier de soie comprenant une résine ou un agent de résistance à l'état humide.
