A wound multi-anodic electrolytic capacitor has a multi-anode stack of strips of high foil gain tunnel-etched aluminum. Inner end edges of the anodes (215A, 215B) in a multi-anode stack are offset from each other by a predetermined distance. Offsetting the end edges of the anodes advantageously reduces mechanical stresses in the capacitor windings. This increases the reliability of the capacitor and advantageously allows a smaller diameter mandrel opening, increasing the energy density per unit volume of the capacitor and allowing its volume to be reduced. When used in an implantable defibrillator or other cardiac rhythm management device, the smaller capacitor advantageously reduces its volume or, alternatively, allows the use of a larger battery, thereby prolonging its useable life.

L'invention concerne un condensateur électrolytique à anodes enroulées multiples, qui comporte un empilement de plusieurs anodes formées de bandelettes en aluminium gravé par effet tunnel à haut gain de feuille. Au niveau de leurs bords terminaux internes, les anodes (215A, 215B) d'un empilement sont mutuellement décalées d'une distance prédéterminée. Le fait de décaler les bords terminaux des anodes réduit de manière avantageuse les contraintes mécaniques à l'intérieur des enroulements du condensateur. Ceci augmente la fiabilité du condensateur, permet de diminuer avantageusement le diamètre de la lumière du mandrin, augmente la densité énergétique par unité de volume du condensateur et permet de diminuer son volume. Quand il est utilisé dans un défibrillateur implantable ou un autre dispositif de gestion du rythme cardiaque, ce petit condensateur réduit avantageusement son volume ou bien permet d'utiliser une plus grosse batterie, ce qui prolonge sa vie utile.
