The present invention provides xyloglucan conjugates useful as molecular anchors for attaching various functional chemical groups to cellulose or cellulosic materials. The functional groups in the xyloglucan conjugates can serve as dyes, fabric softeners, antimicrobial agents, and flame retardants and the like. Also provided are methods of preparing and using the xyloglucan conjugates of the invention.

L'invention concerne des conjugués de xyloglucane que l'on utilise comme ancrages moléculaires pour fixer divers groupes chimiques fonctionnels à la cellulose ou à des matériaux cellulosiques. Les groupes fonctionnels dans les conjugués de xyloglucane peuvent servir notamment de colorants, d'adoucissants de tissus, d'agents antimicrobiens et d'ignifugeants. L'invention concerne également des procédés de préparation et d'utilisation des conjugués de xyloglucane.
