he zone defence mine comprises a steerable launch tube for firing a projectile on any bearing angle, the said projectile containing at least one explosive charge and being provided with means to impart rotation about an axis (YY) and acquire a target. The launch tube is steerable to at least two different angles of sight, and provisions for positioning the projectile within the tube make it possible to position the projectile on a sabot within the tube in such a way that the rotational axis (YY) of the projectile remains oriented on a given axis regardless of the angle of sight chosen. Such a mine may be used both as a short-range and a medium-range weapon.
La mine à défense de zone comprend un tube de lancement orientable pour tirer un projectile suivant un angle de gisement quelconque, le projectile renfermant au moins une charge explosive, des moyens de mise en rotation du projectile autour d'un axe (YY) et des moyens de détection d'une cible. Le tube de lancement est orientable suivant au moins deux angles de site différents, et des dispositifs de positionnement du projectile dans le tube permettent de positionner le projectile sur un sabot du tube de manière à ce que l'axe de rotation (YY) du projectile reste orienté suivant un axe déterminé quel que soit l'angle de site sélectionné. Une telle mine peut être indifféremment utilisée suivant un mode de fonctionnement à faible ou moyenne portée.
