Avantageusement l'indicateur coloré utilisé sera le vert de bromocrésol, le bleu de bromophénol et le bleu de bromochlorophénol convenant également. Ces divers colorants sont utilisables comme répondant aux différents critères requis tant au niveau de la toxicité qu'à celui de rôle d'indicateur coloré dont la couleur tranche sur la muqueuse quand elle est hypoacide. Application à la gastrofibroscopie.
