ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A Group IVa metal halide such as methyl tri- chlorosilane is reacted with an oxime compound such as methyl ethyl ketone oxime in the absence of a base to form in high yields a product oximinosilane, oximinoger- mane or oximinostannane (e.g. methyl tris(methyl ethyl ketoximo)silane) and a by-product oxime hydrohalide. The oxime above that is found in the product may be recovered by neutralization of the by-product oxime hydrohalide. The products can be useful in a variety of applications, and especially as room temperature vulcanizing or curing agents for silicones.
