Abstract: The present invention is directed to a herbicidal composition which comprises as the active ingredient (a) at least one compound of the formula: Image wherein R is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group and (b) at least one of 1-(2-chlorophenylsulfonyl)-3-(4-methoxy-6- methyl-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)urea or methyl 2-[[[[(4-methoxy-6- methyl-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)amino]carbonyl]amino]- sulfonyl]benzoate, and an inert carrier or diluent, which exerts a synergistically enhanced herbicidal potency.
