The present invention is directed to method of disinfecting a contact lens with an ophthalmically safe disinfecting aqueous solution comprising about 2.0 to about 8.0 ppm of a bis(biguanide) having formula (I)(see formula I), wherein R1 and R4 am independently selected from the group consisting of branched or unbranched alkyl having 4-12 carbon atoms, ether or thioether radical having 4- 12 carbon atoms, or cycloalkyl or cycloalkyl-alkyl radical having 5-12 carbon atoms; R2 and R3 are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl having 1-1 carbon atoms, alkoxyalkyl having 1-12 carbon atoms, or cycloalkyl or cycloalkyl-alkyl having 5-12 carbon atoms; R6 and R7 are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and alkyl radical having 1-6 carbon atoms, and A in said formula is selected from the group consisting of a divalent alkyl, alkyloxyalkyl, or alkylsulfide radical each having 4-12 carbon atoms. The invention is also directed to a method of cleaning and/or disinfecting a contact lens within a minimum soaking period that is not more than about 75 minutes.
La présente invention porte sur un procédé de décontamination d'une lentille de contact avec une solution aqueuse inoffensive au niveau ophtalmique, cette solution comprenant entre environ 2,0 et environ 8,0 ppm d'un bis(biguanide) ayant la formule générale (I) dans laquelle R<1> et R<4> sont indépendamment sélectionnés dans le groupe constitué par un alkyle ramifié ou non ramifié possédant entre 4 et 12 atones de carbone, un radical éther ou thioéther possédant de 4 à 12 atomes de carbone ou un radical cycloalkyle ou cycloalkyle-alkyle possédant de 5 à 12 atomes de carbone; R<2> et R<3> sont indépendamment sélectionnés dans le groupe constitué par hydrogène, alkyle possédant de 1 à 12 atomes de carbone, alcoxyalkyle possédant de 1 à 12 atomes de carbone ou cycloalkyle ou cycloalkyle-alkyle possédant de 5 à 12 atomes de carbone; R<6> et R<7> sont indépendamment sélectionnés dans le groupe constitué par un radical hydrogène et alkyle possédant de 1 à 6 atomes de carbone, et A, dans la formule précitée, est sélectionné dans le groupe constitué par un alkyle divalent, un alkyloxyalkyle ou un radical alkylsulfure, chacun possédant de 4 à 12 atomes de carbone. Cette invention porte également sur un procédé de nettoyage et/ou de décontamination d'une lentille de contact sur une durée de conservation minimale ne dépassant pas plus d'environ 75 minutes.
