A coated article is provided which may be heat treated (e.g., thermally tempered) and/or heat bent in certain example instances. In certain example embodiments, an interlayer of or including a metal oxide such as tin oxide is provided under an infrared (IR) reflecting layer so as to be located between respective layers of or including silicon nitride and zinc oxide. It has been found that the use of such a tin oxide inclusive interlayer results in significantly improved bendability of the coated article in applications such as vehicle windshields with deep bends. In certain example instances, an overcoat of a material such as zirconium oxide may also provided.
L'invention concerne un article revêtu qui peut être traité thermiquement (par exemple, conditionné thermiquement) et/ou mélangé thermiquement dans certains cas. Dans certains modes de réalisation exemplaires, une couche intermédiaire d'oxyde métallique ou contenant ledit oxyde, tel qu'un oxyde d'étain, est engendrée sous une couche réfléchissante infrarouge, de manière à se trouver entre des couches respectives de nitrure de silicium et d'oxyde de zinc ou contenant ledit nitrure et ledit oxyde. Il a été prouvé que l'utilisation d'une telle couche intermédiaire d'oxyde d'étain débouche sur une aptitude au mélange considérablement améliorée de l'article revêtu dans des applications, telles que des pare-brise de véhicule avec des mélanges épais. Certains exemples ont aussi trait à une couche de finition d'une matière, telle qu'un oxyde de zircone.
