In the high-speed web printing industry, printing presses are known to utilize a series of ink-keys in order to control the flow of ink to the ink roller. In this invention the ink key utilizes a positive direct drive system which utilizes a spring loaded Sliding Drive Sleeve. In addition, this system has many microprocessor controlled parameters that ensure the ease of operation as well as longevity of the unit. Lastly, damage from manual operation of the unit is protected by a unique Torque Limited Mechanism.
