The invention concerns a method for making a reinforcing element based on glass fibers, designed to be incorporated in a profiled article based on thermoplastic elastomer. The invention is characterized in that the method comprises at least two successive steps, namely: a step which consists in pre-activation of the glass fibers, by dip coating in a solution containing a mixture of epoxides and diisocyanates; a step which consists in extruding the pre-activated glass fibers with a thermoplastic material, functionalized by a reactive group having a chemical reactivity with the epoxides and/or the diisocyanates.

L'invention vise un procédé de fabrication d'un élément de renfort longitudinal à base de fibres de verre, qui est destiné à être incorporé dans un article profilé à base d'élastomère thermoplastique.Conformément à l'invention, ce procédé se caractérise en ce qu'il comporte au moins deux étapes successives, à savoir: - une étape de pré-activation des fibres de verre, par trempage dans une solution contenant un mélange d'époxydes et de diisocyanates. - une étape d'extrusion des fibres pré-activées par un matériau thermoplastique, fonctionnalisé par un groupe réactif ayant une réactivité chimique avec les époxydes et/ou les diisocyanates.
